On Passion-

To possess great passion we must willingly become vulnerable
to disappointment, disillusion, and probable pain.

May we never be satisfied with
superficial works and meaningless discourse.

May we seize indulgence in
fickle flattery and transient diversion.

May we wholly and habitually
find meaning in tribulation and bless the marvelous.

May we be more than a mechanically simulated conformist.
May we be a more than a grain of sand among the infinite .
May we be more than a flicker of light in an endless galaxy.

May we resign misplaced!
May we relinquish mediocre!
May we abandon the road well traveled!

Perhaps purpose is worth our present discomfort.
Perhaps honor is a worthy reward unto itself.

May we believe in hope!
May we believe in truth!
May we believe in passion!

May we become that which we believe in.

  1. Very inspiring words.

Powerful seeds of change would be planted If all of us took just a few of these to heart & practiced them, at first, with those close to us then mastering and expanding them with open minds to complete strangers and to those in need. Putting one’s guard down & leaving oneself open to the possibility of being hurt is a difficult thing to do for many of us especially in times of struggle & hardship where everyone is only looking out for themselves.

However, what a blessing a simple smile & warm greeting from a stranger is to someone who has lost hope in the goodness of man. We should all take a chance to plant a seed & make a difference without fearing the unknown & when we come across a wall in our path, understand that we have some choices to make.….stop, go back or climb over. The latter may be the most perilous or it may prove to be the most rewarding but we’ll never know unless we try.

In the words of Mark Twain – “I’ve lived through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened”.
